Program

Conference program ( As at 01 Otober, 2010 )
Introduction

The conference runs over three days and two evenings, commencing with an official opening ceremony on Friday 23 March 2012.  A 'Welcome to Warrnambool” celebration will follow Friday’s formalities, providing delegates and sponsors with an opportunity to network and renew acquaintances. The formalities are timed to conclude at 8.00pm. You are welcome to linger for another hour but then we must leave Flagstaff Hill. An option for further social merry making is to join in for a meal at the Warrnambool Bowls Club - a one hundred meter walk away. If everyone chooses this option, then two sittings will be required, the first commencing at 8.15pm and the second at 9pm.

An exciting innovation has been added to the Conference this year. A Youth Parliament will discuss and debate the issue, “Being good neighbours”. The two focus studies will be Australia’s relationship with East Timor and the urban / rural divide in  Victoria and Australia. Rotarians will be able to visit the Rotary Youth Parliament and listen to the rising generation explore these important matters.

The weekend's program will take place at Deakin University’s Warrnambool campus at Sherwood Park, on the city’s eastern entrance. Auditorium capacity constraints have stimulated the organising committee to develop a unique two theatre concurrent program, offering delegates a choice of speakers and presentations.

Saturday afternoon's interactive sessions will include a focus on Rotary in action in a rapidly changing world.

Saturday evening will feature a three course Conference Banquet, with first class musical entertainment and a host of other surprises. Music will be provided by a return visit of the hugely popular Code One., VicPol’s Rock/Pop band with a penchant for all things blue.
