Annette Allison
Annette Allison is the Public Affairs Manager for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Victorian Section). She was a Board member of the RFDS Victorian Section for three years prior to taking up her new role 5 years ago.
She has been involved in both print and electronic media in a long career spanning three States and became a household name in Victoria as the host of the highly successful morning television program “Good Morning Melbourne” on Channel Ten for ten years.
She has been Managing Director of Triple A Corporate Communications and a Board Member of the Aids Trust of Australia, Open Family Foundation, the Royal Flying Doctor Service and both the Victoria State Opera and Opera Australia Boards.
She was the inaugural Number One Lady Ticket holder for the Melbourne Football Club, a position she held for 16 years and since 1983 has been an Ambassador for the City of Melbourne.
Until recently Miss Allison chaired the Promotional & Marketing Committee for the popular tourist icon, the City Circle Tram.
Born and educated in Queensland at a Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association school, Annette has spent many years in the outback making documentary films and has seen at first hand the work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service in many parts of Australia.
(The founder of the RFDS the Reverend John Flynn was a Presbyterian Minister, whose image appears on the Australian $20 note. The RFDS has twice been voted as Australia’s Most Trusted Charity by the readers of Readers Digest.)
